TARZZ was formed in 2004 when Tariq (the bassist and brainchild of the TARZZ project) met with Asif (keyboardist) and Azfar (lead guitarist), two extremely talented musicians, in Chicago. Realizing their mutual musical wavelength, they took the initial step and decided to form a band. Soon enough, they found their drummer, Asad, and later another addition was made to make TARZZ complete, their voice, Farhan.
Initially when they started practicing and playing as a band, they called themselves and were better known as DHOOP. However, since most of their songs were and are melody-based, DHOOP did not do justice to their music and seemed to be an unsettled issue. Another name was desperately needed; a name that would describe the fusion of their individual talents. And so, finally, DHOOP transformed into TARZZ.
All of the 5 band members were born and brought up in Karachi and have migrated to the U.S. within the last 10 years. And although each one of their careers has a success story in Corporate America, TARZZ has been pursuing this new career in a very professional manner ever since its launch. By listening to and understanding some of the initial efforts made by the guys, it seems like they are very focused on the lyrics and melodies of their songs. Amongst the fresh and upcoming bands, the music that TARZZ is all about stands out on its own.Kamran Khan “kamijee” is one of the most talented music producer from Pakistan ,who also moved to Chicago and he is producing there upcoming debut album and video, he is working hard on band’s album.
Even though they are new in the music industry, and being based in Chicago, Illinois, they have already touched some high notes by sharing the same stage and performing live in Chicago with Junoon, Sukhbir, and Shehzad Roy. Already having gotten terrific reviews after their live performances, the members of TARZZ are all set to mark their territory and make their niche in showbiz.
TARZZ is currently busy recording their first and foremost album which is due by the Summer of 2005. They have also started working on their videos, soon to be released, one by one. Keep an eye out for their debut song/video for “Yaad” (Director: Sibte; Producer: Kamijee) soon to hit the major Pakistani and Indian satellite channels.
We wish them all the best and look forward to see if they live up to their name.
