Seven years ago, Ali K picked up an acoustic guitar. He was fascinated by its sound, its feel and the technique that went into playing it. His initial idea was to create instrumentals or riffs and be part of some platinum band in the making. Much time passed; months turned into years, and Ali K continued to create instrumentals with the sole use of the acoustic and electric guitars. 1998 marked Ali K's involvement with music as a composer and songwriter when he penned down his soon to be released song 'Bundhun'. <br>
Having discovered variegated avenues and forms of songwriting skills within himself, Ali K subsequently graduated to the role of a producer when he brought a series of his self created singles to life by using baselines, guitars and electronic percussion samples. Having felt the need for diverse vocals on his projects, Ali K collaborated with many different promissing and talented local artists in Toronto, experimenting, learning and discovering distinctive forms of his sound with significant focus on beat creation. 2003 took Ali K to the peak of the learning curve where he got educated on various aspects of sound recording, mixing and mastering.
After divergent attempts and endeavors, Ali K formulated what has now proven to be a trademark acoustic sound that defines an unprecedented and a diverse genre catering to the likes of Bollywood, Lollywood, Western fusion and South Asian pop. With over 50 tracks, ideas and concepts already produced and composed, Ali K has a series of albums and singles which are yet to be enjoyed by the mass South Asian public. After years of research, practice and efforts, Ali K has now made a mark with the release of his first 10 track compilation, 'Dhun Savaar'.
